Default Husqvarna gives Dixon the axe.

Husqvarna has announced that they will be ceasing production of the Dixon brand from this time forward. This is part of a global corporate plan that has been put in place to streamline some of the other brands in their portfolio.

I don't think they ever had many plans for Dixon to start with. Dixon was just a so so line of machines with a very poor dealer network and low sales volume. In fact, as I recall, Dixon was in financial dificulty when they were bought out. I think Husq. just saw it as a cheap way to remove a small competitor from the marketplace. Very surprised the Dixon brand lasted this long.

Dixon did themselves in a few years back before Blount owned them.

Speaking of corporate mismanagement, Blount seems to have their hands full. Sales strategy, promotions and policy for their whole goods appears to be made up on the fly. It shifts all the time and even contradicts itself. Delivery of bars & chains has been spotty and since they bought out most of the competition there are not many alternatives. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Husqvarna chain plant starts producing and Oregon looses a large chunk of their sales.
