well the PB200 is far inferior to the PB251, so I don't know why Tanaka is trying to be comparable to that one more so than the 251.

What is MSRP on the PB-200? For us, for the Shindaiwa branded one it's $189

Is the EB240 staying in the lineup for 2009?

Shindaiwa? The EB240s was discontinued a year ago, at least in our distributor's territory.

Is the 251 vacuum capable? Does the 251 have a 2 year commercial warranty?

These longer and longer warranties honestly are silly. If something is going to happen that is an actual warranty problem it will happen very soon after going into service. Its much more rare for an actual warranty issue to come up after putting 100 hours on a unit like this.

I am sure Tanaka will go to a 5 year consumer warranty just to follow everyone else at this point but its just going to lead to alot of angry customers 4.5 years down the road when stuff is not covered because it is normal wear or fuel related.

Might wanna break out a proof reader:

Clutch System: Heavy-duty Centrifugal

Unless this is something new, I have not seen a blower with a clutch

No, the 251 is not vac-capable. None of Echo's hand held blowers are. However, Echo's Shred N Vac machines double as blowers and come with the tubes as well. Their ES210 sells at $199 and I believe is the blower equivelant of the PB200, and the ES230 is $289. It's power output is 340CFM at the pipe.

Comparison of Echo and Tanaka in this instance is rather difficult as the Tanaka is vac capable, but doesn't come with the vac bag, and the Echo comes with the vac gear and all.

I don't mean to sound overly-critical of Tanaka. I have to give you guys mega kudos for coming on here, Lawnsite, and elsewhere looking for input and what have you. Most other manufacturers are MIA in this regard.

No worries. We'd love to have a $159 to offer and will continue to push for it along with other key models.
